Yes the U.S. can be considered a market economy, because it is run by private companies who choose what to make, how to make it, and who to make it for.
I believe that it can't be a true market economy unless it is only that. The U.S. is also a part capitalist country, therefore it cant be a true market economy because although they are very similar they do also have differences.
This course establishes basic foundations for further study in business and marketing courses and provides essential information for making financial and economic decisions. Students learn about the fundamentals of the American free enterprise system and world economies: application of sound money management for personal and family finances; credit management; consumer rights and responsibilities; forms or business ownership; risk and insurance; and the importance of international trade.
Content/Process
Students will:
-explain characteristics of the free enterprise system -identify and analyze the rights of U.S. citizens -discuss business ethics -compare capitalism, socialism, and communism -compare sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, and cooperative business -identify major types of financial institutions and banking services -explore credit, savings, and insurance -research careers in business and marketing -analyze the role, rights, and responsibilities of the consumer -explain budgeting and record keeping -explain government and labor’s role in business -identify the nine functions of marketing -demonstrate employability and social skills -prepare a process writing at the apprentice level or above -observe all school and classroom rules
Grading Criteria
Students must complete class work and tests with a 60% average in order to receive credit for the course. Homework and class work count as 50% with tests counting for 50% of the grade.
Materials Student Handbook-Agenda Folder/Notebook Textbook Writing utensil Policies 1. Obey all school rules. 2. Bring all necessary materials to class. 3. Show respect for others. 4. Properly handle classroom equipment. 5. Conduct yourself properly at ALL times. Consequences: 1. Warning 2. Conference with teacher and/or time after class for evaluation of one’s own actions 3. Conference with teacher and detention assigned 4. Notification of parents (phone or mail) and a possible conference 5. Trip to Assistant Principal’s office for disciplinary action
EXPECTATIONS FOR CLASS 1. Be in class and ready to begin work when the bell rings. 2. The Student Handbook-Agenda must be brought to class each day. 3. Clean up your work area at the end of each class period. No paper is to be left on the workstations, desks, or floor. Chairs are to be placed under the stations. 4. Remain seated until dismissed by the teacher. You will be dismissed when the room is in order and everyone is quiet and seated. 5. Do not play with the equipment in the room. You will be responsible for any damage done to any equipment, while being used by you. Computers may only be used for educational purposes (no surfing). 6. Raise your hand and be recognized before speaking. 7. Do not roll around the room in chairs or sit on desks. 8. You will only leave class with a signed agenda and permission from the teacher. 9. You will not use any type of vulgarity in class. 10. Food, drink, candy and gum are not allowed in class. Please discard any of these items in the appropriate place upon entering the classroom. 11. All other guidelines of appropriate, courteous, and responsible behavior are implied and are expected to be followed.

im not really sure if we are a market ecomony ir not but i guess that i will learn sometime.

Our ecomony is a true market economy, because we have the right to start a new business, and the government can not control said business.

yes I would say we are an market economy bc we sell and buy goods and we have democratic forms of government
we have an market economy because we have the rite to start businesses and so forth we also have the rite to a free enterprise!
